Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion
Orange County. Dec 21, 2021. #224. Had my LFP Model 3 SR+ since September, approx 3k miles, and noticed my range went down to 249 when charged to 100%. Weather in California has went down to about 45-50 degrees recently, so not sure if the decrease in range has to do with the temp. Lephturn. C.

Tesla''s long-term battery degradation data shows that after 200,000 miles, the average battery capacity degradation is around 12%. This means that even after significant use, the battery capacity is still at a reasonable level. Real-world data from Tesloop showed that after 200,000 miles, the battery degradation was only around 6%.

A lot of people were saying that Tesla underestimated the range of the LFP versions, but they didn''t. They estimated the range based off of a properly broke-in battery. LFP batteries actually have a break in period where they lose about 5 to 10% of the range But then after the break-in period it flattens out and doesn''t lose anymore.

The cyclic degradation will not be the dominant degradation suring the first 3-5 years. Calendar aging is the dominant degradator and is less with low SOC.
